Join us on an all-day combo excursion to two of Puerto Rico’s most well-known locations
Your day starts with a visit to the El Yunque Rainforest. As the only tropical rainforest in the United States National Forest System, this spot is a must-see for all visitors to the island!
We will hike 25 to 30 minutes up a dirk/rock path that does include some river wading. The trail is surrounded by bamboo trees, rainforest flowers, and many other beautiful plants. Our group will stop at a collecting pool formed from the base of a waterfall. Here, you will have the chance to swim in the pool’s crystal-clear waters. This is also a great spot for picture opportunities!
After the swim, we will continue hiking on a more intense portion of the trail that includes climbing boulders. Our destination is a river in which you can swim, jump from a rope swing, and go down natural water slides.
Once the hike concludes, we will stop for lunch at a local restaurant (cost of meal is not included in total tour price) before heading to Bio Bay. You will participate in a nighttime kayaking adventure through mystical mangrove channels that lead to ‘Laguna Grande.’
At the Laguna, you’ll meet our glowing friends: the Pyrodinium Bahamense, otherwise known as microscopic plankton capable of producing natural light (like fireflies) at the mere touch of your hand! The 1.5 to 2 hour Bio Bay experience will also allow you to learn about the reserve’s fragile ecosystem, explore by paddle in a safe and enclosed environment, and interact with the amazing native plankton.
